Yesterday’s Rainbow

Yesterday, the world was painted in vivid hues.

The sky, a canvas of endless blue,

The grass, a lush, vibrant green,

Birdsong danced on the gentle breeze.

Today, the colours have drained away,

Leaving only shades of grey.

Stillness wraps around me like a heavy fog,

A silence so loud it echoes in my mind.

I walk through the remnants of what once was,

Haunted by memories of laughter and light.

The joy that filled my days has faded,

Replaced by an emptiness, a void.

Everything I cherished has slipped through my fingers,

Like sand in an hourglass, gone forever.

The rainbow of yesterday’s dreams

Has vanished, never to return.

Written at age 13.
