Two Hearts, One Wish π
Do you remember picking the petals off a daisy when you were younger?
βHe loves me. He loves me not.β
I know I did! π
I can still remember being nine years old, sitting in the field behind where my nan used to live on a warm summer’s day.
The smell of the grass, the sounds of summer all around me, and a little daisy in my hand as I picked off each petal, secretly hoping the last one would give me the answer I wanted.
It’s funny, isn’t it? π
How such a simple, gentle moment can stay with you all these years later. π
But what if the person you were thinking about was thinking about you too?
Both wondering. Both hoping. Neither quite sure how the other felt.
“Two Hearts, One Wish” is a poem inspired by those special childhood memories that live deep inside our hearts, the wonder of love, and maybe even the grandest possibility of all…
βWhat if?β π€
Two Hearts, One Wish
He loves me.
He loves me not.
She loves me.
She loves me not.
What if
two minds,
two hearts,
two souls
held exactly
the same thought
at exactly the same timeβ
each wondering
whether the other
felt it too,
leaving the petals
of a single daisy
to decide?
