Sunflowers in the Day poem by J. S. Summers, featuring sunflowers glowing in the warmth of daylight.

Sunflowers In The Day 💗

Sometimes growth happens long before anyone else can see it.

We can feel buried beneath everything life has placed on top of us and wonder whether we are ever going to find our way back into the light.

I wrote Sunflowers in the Day about those moments.

A seed begins its life completely hidden in darkness, yet somehow it keeps growing towards something it cannot even see.

Maybe we are a little like that too.

Sometimes we are not lost.

We are simply becoming.

Sunflowers in the Day

Every seed

begins unseen.

Hidden beneath the soil,

surrounded by darkness,

yet believing

there is light above.

One day,

with enough hope,

enough rain,

and enough sunshine,

it breaks through…

Not to become

what the world expects,

but to become

exactly

what it was always meant

to be.
