A Lover's Game romantic poem by J. S. Summers, featuring a glowing candle, dark blue background and a playful invitation to a kissing game.

A Lovers Game ❤️

Sometimes, the simplest moments can be the most romantic.

Life gets busy. Phones, work, children, responsibilities and a hundred other distractions. And sometimes we forget to stop and really look at the person sitting right in front of us.

I originally created “A Lover’s Game” as a fun romantic challenge for couples. But there’s something rather lovely behind it.

Two people. No distractions. Just a moment together, a little anticipation and a kiss waiting to happen.

Because sometimes, losing a game can be the most wonderful way to win. ❤️

A Lover’s Game ❤️

Come,

Sit opposite me.

No phones.

No distractions.

Just you,

Me,

And the gentle glow

Of candlelight.

Look into my eyes,

And I’ll look into yours.

No talking.

No touching.

Not yet.

A smile forms

Upon your lips.

Your eyes

Wander to mine.

The silence

Fills with anticipation.

Our hearts quicken.

A little closer.

Then closer still.

Until…

I can resist

No longer.

I lean forward,

Close my eyes,

And gently

Kiss your lips.

Soft.

Warm.

Unhurried.

You smile,

And whisper,

“I win.”

But darling,

If losing

Means kissing you,

I’ll happily lose

Again.

And again.

And again.

Though tonight,

It seems I’m still

Doing the dishes. ❤️
